Form 5-1 Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply Input Sheet¶
In the “Form 5-1. (Hot Water Supply) Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply” input sheet, enter information such as the names of hot water supply equipment and the presence or absence of water-saving fixtures, based on the plumbing and sanitary equipment drawings (equipment list, system diagram, floor plan, and detailed drawings) that describe the specifications of the hot water supply equipment. Note that a “Room Subject to Hot Water Supply Calculation” is defined as a “habitable room in which a person who may use hot water is present,” and it is not the room where the hot water supply equipment is installed. Also note that single-pipe hot water supply equipment (local hot water supply equipment and/or central water supply equipment without return pipes) are also subject to calculation.
Format of the Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply Input Sheet¶
The “Form 5-1. (Hot Water Supply) Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply” input sheet is shown in Figure 5-1-1.

Input Items and Input Method of the Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply Input Sheet¶
The input items and input methods of the “Form 5-1. (Hot Water Supply) Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply” input sheet are shown below. The numbers in brackets preceding each item name correspond to the numbers in brackets shown at the top of Figure 5-1-1.
(1) Floor, Room Name, Building Use, Room Use, Room Area¶
- Transcribe the floor, room name, etc., of the rooms subject to hot water supply calculation from among the rooms entered in Figure 1-2-1 “Format of Form 1 (Common Conditions) ‘Room Specifications Input Sheet.’” Since full-width and half-width characters are distinguished, care shall be taken when entering data.
- These items must be identical in every respect - including uppercase and lowercase letters and spaces - to the information in the “Room Specifications” input sheet.” However, the order of rooms may differ.
- The “Rooms Subject to Hot Water Supply” to be entered here refer to “rooms in which persons who may use hot water are present,” and specify the rooms where persons who use the hot water supplied by each device mainly stay. The amount of hot water used by each device is determined accordingly.
(2) Hot Water Supply Location (Location of Hot Water Supply Faucet Installed)¶
- Enter any descriptive string to indicate the location where hot water is supplied with the hot water supply equipment (i.e., where a hot-water faucet is installed).
- The “Room Subject to Hot Water Supply” is the room in which a person who may use hot water is present, whereas the (2) Hot Water Supply Location to be entered here refers to the “actual place where hot water is used;” therefore, these two do not necessarily coincide.
- Although this information is not used in the calculation, it must be entered because it is required by the examiner when cross-checking against the drawings.
(3) Water-Saving Fixtures¶
- Regarding the adoption of water-saving fixtures, if water-saving fixtures are adopted, select the corresponding fixture from the options in Table 5-1-1 “Specific Specifications of Water-Saving Fixtures.” If they are not adopted, enter “Absent.”
- Water-Saving Type B1 refers to a faucet equipped with a low-flow discharge mechanism. Water-Saving Type A1 (manual stop mechanism at hand) and Water-Saving Type C1 (water-first discharge mechanism) are not regarded as water-saving fixtures in the evaluation method for non-residential buildings, because the water-saving effect when installed in non-residential buildings is unclear (the usage of hot and cold water differs between residential and commercial applications).
- When using two-valve faucets, enter “Absent.”
(4) Name of Hot Water Supply Equipment¶
- Enter the name of the hot water supply equipment as any character string.
- The entered name must be identical to the Name of Hot Water Supply Equipment in the format of Figure 5-2-1 “Form 5-2 (Hot Water Supply) Hot Water Supply Equipment" input sheet.
- If multiple hot water supply equipment units are installed in one room subject to hot water supply, list the names of all the equipment; enter the floor, room name, etc., only for the top equipment, and leave those fields blank for the others.
- If one hot water supply equipment unit supplies hot water to multiple rooms, enter the same hot water supply equipment unit name in item (4) Name of Hot Water Supply Equipment of each room.
- Even if the specifications are the same, assign and enter different hot water supply equipment names for equipment units that are physically different (e.g., installed in different locations).
